Day Trip: The City of Bristol

As well as our Travel Vlog’s my wife Dianne (credit to her for some of the camera work while I drove) and I will be doing regular Day Trip vlogs to pass the time in between our vacations. This is our first day trip. We visited the wonderful cultural city of Bristol, voted in 2015 to be the best UK city to live in.

We check out Millenium Square on the Harbourside, have a lovely tapas meal and some Mojitos at the Cuban Restaurant and Bar, do some shopping in Cabot Circus, buy some donuts, and see some of the amazing street art that Bristol has become well known for.

Find out what happened to the donuts by subscribing to my YouTube channel and keeping an eye out for my next ‘Cooking with Matt’ video.

We also did a live Periscope broadcast from Cabot Circus Shopping Centre after lots of encouragement from our friend PlayWearTalkRed (https://www.youtube.com/PlayWearTalkRed). Travel Vlog: Route 66 Roadtrip 2011

This is a vlog I made 5 years ago with my wife Dianne while travelling along the Historic Route 66 Highway. It’s a collection of short video’s I took on my digital camera mostly during travel in the car between Chicago, Illinois and San Francisco, California (via Las Vegas and Los Angeles).

We mostly stuck to old alignments of Route 66 and tried to avoid using the often adjacent Interstate highways as much as possible which often meant meandering along at 40mph on a frontage road for miles next to the Interstate! We followed directions in the brilliant and informative book EZ66 Guide for Travellers in addition to the map view on our sat nav to view upcoming street names (it’s impossible to use a sat nav to get directions for Route 66 as the road doesn’t officially exist anymore except for historic designations).

I haven’t included any photos of the trip in order to keep this vlog short but if you’d like to view more pictures and read up on our adventure in more detail check out my other travel blogs from 2011 here on this site. If you’re planning a trip and have any questions or would like booking or accommodation tips just leave a comment below and I’ll do my best to help.

Travel Vlog: Disneyland to Dismaland, a recap of our trip

We’ve come to the end of our trip. This vlog is a recap on the things we’ve done and the people we’ve met along the way on what has been one of our best ever trips to Disneyland Paris. As a little bonus we’ve ended the trip vlogs at the former home of Dismaland which happens to be my home town of Weston-super-Mare and included some footage from this at the end of the video.

Feel free to leave your Disneyland Resort Paris related questions in the comments, I’m happy to help answer general questions, questions relating to an upcoming trip you might be making etc.
