California Route 66 Road Trip

It’s me! Matt Stone. Back in 2011 my wife Dianne and I went on an epic road trip across the United State of America, we started in Chicago and followed the old alignments of Historic Route 66 as far as Flagstaff, AZ (see our video of the trip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrPONHckPp8). We went up to Las Vegas followed by Los Angeles and San Francisco which meant we missed some of the best sections of Route 66 through western Arizona and almost all of California.

On our trip to Los Angeles where we spent most of our time at Disneyland, Anaheim (video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY1DTQZ25vA), we did a day trip into the California desert along Route 66 as far as we could drive in half a day.

We stopped off at the McDonalds museum in San Bernardino where we met the museum curator Jack Marcus, the California Route 66 Museum in Victorville where we had a personal tour of the museum from Lou, one of the volunteers who had many amazing stories about the collection and his own life growing up in the USA, with our final stop being Barstow and seeing the famous Harvey House and Train Station.

Our epic trip to Disneyland Anaheim in California

It’s me! Matt Stone. It’s been a goal of mine and my wife to visit every Disney park in the World. If you’ve watched any of our previous Disney vlogs you’ll know Dianne and I love Disney and visit Disneyland Paris at once a year, this year we’ve been lucky enough to go on a trip to the home of the original Disneyland park on a trip to Anaheim in California.

Join us as we wander around Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure, including footage from Tarzan’s Treehouse, the queue and pre-show of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, as well as The Little Mermaid.

Day Trip: Disneyland Resort Paris

C’est moi! Matt Stone. It’s been almost 7 months since I uploaded my last vlog to YouTube but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working hard to create more videos in that time. This video was filmed in March when we decided to do a day trip to Disneyland Paris and combined with staying two nights at one of our favourite hotel chains (see my other video here for a room review: https://matt-stone.co.uk/citizenm-hotel-room-review-london-paris-eurostar-trip/). We spent 12 hours at Disneyland Resort Paris catching the TGV from our hotel at Charles de Gaulle airport which is only 10 minutes from Disneyland Paris.

We visited Walt Disney Studios for an hour in the morning but I didn’t really film much in that park, then we moved on to Disneyland Park and did a full tour along with some of our favourite rides. Apologies if the ride footage is a but shaky, it’s the first time I’ve used my Canon G1x on a ride!

We were even lucky enough to ride Star Tours: The Adventure Continues before it had even opened! They had a soft opening for a few hours with Disney management greeting guests as they entered the ride, thanks to Brian Saxon (Twitter: @BrianKSaxon) for tweeting us to let us know it had opened as we had already been to that part of the park and would have otherwise missed out.

Flying the DJI Mavic Pro in Iceland

It’s me! Matt Stone. Welcome to Mavic Matt, my second YouTube channel. Here I’ll showcase the footage captured using my DJI Mavic Pro quadcopter.

We recently went on a trip to Iceland which was my first opportunity to use the Mavic abroad to capture some stunning natural scenery and get used to how the Mavic operated in low temperatures.
